Bill and Hillary Clinton were among the Democrats who endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden ended his reelection bid Sunday.

Leading Democrats have thrown their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris as their party's nominee for the 2024 presidential race, following President Biden's decision to not seek reelection. While Mr. Biden has endorsed Harris, the Democratic nominee will be determined by a vote of the delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago next month. Harris has received endorsements from prominent figures within the party, including former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who praised Harris' ability to unite the party and defeat Donald Trump. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a former presidential candidate herself, also endorsed Harris, highlighting her leadership and experience.

Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Sens. Patty Murray and Amy Klobuchar have also thrown their support behind Harris. The Congressional Black Caucus PAC and the head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Nanette Barragán, have joined the chorus of support for Harris, citing her accomplishments and ability to lead the country. Harris has expressed her intention to "earn and win" the Democratic nomination, reaching out to Americans and uniting the party to defeat Trump.

However, some notable Democratic figures have not yet endorsed Harris, including former President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Their statements following Mr. Biden's withdrawal praised his service and achievements but did not mention Harris or any potential replacement. Similarly, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's statements also omitted any mention of Harris as the potential Democratic nominee.
