Harris has requested materials from several veep candidates.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently announced her presidential bid, has begun the process of vetting potential running mates. While several names are being considered, one notable exception has raised questions. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who was previously featured on preliminary lists of potential running mates, has not been asked to submit vetting materials, according to a report by CNN's Kaitlan Collins. This contrasts with other candidates, such as Senators and Governors from states like Arizona, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, who have been requested to provide information for the vetting process. Governor Beshear shared that Vice President Harris called him personally after President Biden's announcement, and he expressed his priority to help the people of Kentucky in any role he assumes. Harris' campaign has gained significant momentum, with strong delegate support and substantial campaign contributions. However, she is yet to receive endorsements from key Democratic leaders like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
