Plane Crash Near Ohio Airport Claims Three Lives; Federal Authorities Launch Investigation

A plane attempting an emergency landing at a northeastern Ohio airport crashed, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals on board, according to officials.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported that the twin-engine Beechcraft 60 crashed near Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport around 6:45 PM on Friday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, notified shortly after 7 PM, indicated that the crash occurred just north of the airport and claimed the lives of the pilot and two passengers. Their families have been informed, and their names will be released at a later time.

Authorities suspect mechanical failure as a potential cause, noting the aircraft was trying to make an emergency landing when it went down "near one of the runways" in Fowler Township, as detailed in a news release from the Warren post of the highway patrol on Saturday afternoon.

The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation, as stated by the FAA. State troopers are currently working alongside local police, fire units, and the county sheriff's office at the crash site.
