One person killed, one injured in South River home explosion


On Thursday evening, a home explosion occurred in South River, resulting in one fatality and one person seriously injured. The explosion rocked a neighborhood in the borough, and the victim, identified as Kevin Gilbert, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment [1].

Details of the Incident


The explosion took place at a residence on Continental Court off Leonardine Avenue. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the two men with serious injuries. The home was completely leveled, and there was debris scattered on the roadway and neighboring lawns. Neighbors were safely evacuated, and the fire was extinguished. However, fire officials remained on the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
