Today, we took a significant step forward in our mission to alleviate the burden of student debt for approximately 30 million Americans. By offering borrowers additional information on how to benefit from our upcoming debt relief programs, we are empowering them to be ready to take advantage of these opportunities as soon as the rules are finalized.

Despite opposition from Republican officials, we remain steadfast in our commitment to support student loan borrowers, reform a broken student loan system, and free individuals from the weight of student debt.

Today's news builds on the substantial progress we've already made over the past three years. This includes debt cancellation for nearly 5 million Americans, significant increases in the maximum Pell Grant, reforms to Income-Driven Repayment to ensure borrowers receive the relief they are legally entitled to, and holding accountable colleges that exploit students and families.

From the outset of my Administration, I pledged to fight for higher education as a gateway to the middle class, not an obstacle to opportunity. I am unwavering in my dedication to making higher education affordable and ensuring our Administration delivers on its promises to the American people.
