California is enduring another rainy weekend with the threat of flooding. Despite some sunshine this year, Los Angeles has already experienced double their average rainfall. Another storm is forecasted for this weekend, following a rainy Friday in the San Francisco Bay Area. Southern California, including Los Angeles and San Diego, faces a flood threat, with Flash Flood Warnings covering over 5 million in the Los Angeles Metro area early Saturday morning.

Severe Storms in the Plains

After soaking California, a potent storm will move into the Plains, setting the stage for a potential widespread severe weather event. The risk of hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes stretches from Texas to the Midwest on Monday. This threat is reminiscent of a Level 3 severe weather risk issued by NOAA's Storm Prediction Center last year, which led to 20 tornadoes across the region.
