President Biden will be back at the White House on Tuesday for the first time since he announced he was abandoning his re-election campaign and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

President Biden is set to return to the White House on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, after recovering from COVID-19 at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This marks his first appearance at the White House since he announced he was abandoning his re-election campaign and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

The 81-year-old president was initially scheduled to leave his beach town quarantine on Monday and resume campaigning, but he extended his stay after dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. Biden canceled nine trips planned for the next two weeks, including visits to California, Denver, Houston, and Austin.

According to his physician, Kevin O'Connor, Biden has almost recovered from COVID-19, which he tested positive for last Wednesday. Harris also confirmed his improvement during her speech announcing her presidential run at the White House on Monday.

Biden's return to the White House coincides with his scheduled meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This meeting was initially reported to be canceled due to Biden's COVID diagnosis, but it remains unclear if it will now take place as planned.

The president has not been seen in public since last Wednesday night when he was diagnosed with COVID-19. His last public appearance showed him struggling to disembark from Air Force One and get into his motorcade.
